What is Real-Time Learning?
Real-time learners see patterns, anticipate upcoming change, and proactively adapt their skills. Advancement in today’s workforce requires self-directed training. But how do you figure out what you don’t know? Our Real-Time Learning for Individuals program will help you better assess your current situation, gather information, and plan accordingly to meet your career goals.
What differentiates Real-Time Learning?
Unlike traditional learning that most are accustomed to in formal schooling, real-time learners are able to take ownership of their learning and tackle any challenges they face.
Traditional Learners
- Wait until something is broken or they are told to do something.
- Need someone else to provide the steps.
- Wait until someone tells them of the need to learn something new.
- Stay stuck when their initial attempts to solve a problem fail.
Real Time Learners
- Proactively look for problems to solve or opportunities to tackle.
- Can frame the steps necessary to solve a problem or tackle an opportunity.
- Identify new skills or knowledge they need to acquire to help them in their life, job, etc.
- Naturally iterate when they are initially unsuccessful in solving a problem, taking advantage of an opportunity or picking up a new skill.

What's At Stake?
Experts predict that automation may claim as many as 30 Million U.S. jobs within the next 20 years. Thriving in this economy requires workers to build up foundational skills that can’t be replicated by machines. But are we prepared?
- Over 70% of employers are unsatisfied with college graduates’ ability to think critically or communicate effectively.
- 54% of all employees will need reskilling and upskilling by 2022, according to the World Economic Forum.
- Baby Boomers changed jobs 12.3 times on average between the ages of 18-52, a number experts believe will increase for subsequent generations.
- 87% of millennials rate “professional or career growth and development opportunities” as important aspects of their job — but only 39% report learning something to help their job performance in the past month.
- In order to compete in the global market, companies and individuals alike must invest in Real-Time Learning skills.
